1905 Royal Doulton Nelson Centenary Jug
A crisp 1905 Royal Doulton Nelson Centenary Jug. With a rich blue glaze, it features a green medallion of Nelson surrounded by the fleets at Trafalgar. The borders and handle are of rope twist form. “England Expects Every Man Will Do His Duty” is shown around the rim. The base stamps are. And the potters mark is GP, a potter unknown to me. The jug is 20cm tall by 15cm fore to aft by 12cm wide. In excellent condition with no damage. THIS RICHARD ARKWRIGHT WHISKY FLASK MEASURES 9 INCHES TALL – IT COMES WITH THE ORIGINAL TALL POTTERY STOPPER AND DATES FROM 1906. TO THE REAR READS INVENTOR OF THE SPINNING FRAME. THIS SIR RICHARD ARKWRIGHT – KINGSWARE – FLAGON FLASK JUG IS IN SUPERB CONDITION WITH NO CHIPS, NO CRACKS, AND NO RESTORATIONS. THIS ONE SOMEHOW MADE IT INTO THE MARKET BEFORE ROYAL DOULTON REALIZED THEY MADE A MISTAKE AND CORRECTED IT TO SAY 1732 – 1792. THIS JUG HAS THE THICK, LUSTROUS TREACLE GLAZE DEFINING KINGSWARE BROWN COLOR DECORATION OF RICHARDS ARKWRIGHT INVENTOR OF THE SPINNING FRAME. ON THE BACK OF THE JUG IS A PICTORIAL GOLD TRANSFER OF A SPINNING FRAME AND READS ” INVENTOR OF THE SPINNING FRAME “. STAMPED ON THE BOTTOM ON THE JUG” ROYAL DOULTON ENGLAND” WITH THE LION OVER CROWN ROYAL DOULTON MARK – RD. 471183 AND MARKED WITH DEWARS WHITE LABEL WHISKY IN GOLD LETTERING.
