This FABULOUS “Character JUG” was MADE in ENGLAND by “ROYAL DOULTON” and of course, their QUALITY is SECOND to NONE — this one is called “NAPOLEON” — it was MADE in 1993 — the D number 6941 — about 7 1/2 inches HIGH — it is NUMBER 917 — this one is HARDER to find because many people like collecting LIMITED EDITION “NUMBERED” items and it is one of the more HIGHER-priced ones — with the ORIGINAL “COA” (Certificate of Authenticity) — It is in EXCELLENT condition with no damage noted — See my other auctions for OTHER ROYAL DOULTON ITEMS — — WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PICTURE IS WHAT YOU GET!! LASTLY, the MAJORITY of the items I sell are either ANTIQUES or USED MERCHANDISE, do not EXPECT antiques or used merchandise to be “out-of-the-box” brand new and perfect items. Anne of Cleves (Ears Up) D6653 – Large – Royal Doulton Character Jug. Anne of Cleves Ears Up D6653. Designed by Michael Abberley. Series: Henry VIII and His Six Wives. Handle depicts a horse’s head. In a political arrangement by Thomas Cromwell, Anne of Cleves (1515 – 1557) was chosen to marry Henry VIII upon seeing his dull and unattractive betrothed, whom he later referred to as his “Flanders Mare, ” Henry attempted unsuccessfully to break the contract. Anne became his fourth wife on January 6, 1540, for only a brief time. Henry had the marriage annulled on July 8th of that year and gave Anne a pension of life. Condition:New from display. No box and no paperwork. May have some manufacturing issues (I don’t see any). Because of it’s display item.

Royal Doulton Character Toby Jug From the Shakespeare Collection depicting characters from Henry the VIII. Intrigue at the Palace! A coquettish nineteen years of age when she married the King, Catherine was described as a lively girl. Unfortunately, rumors an extramarital affairs led her to the gallows. Catherine Howard would meet the same fate as Ann Boleyn, she was beheaded in 1542.. Figural jug, Fine Ceramic Pottery Art, Made in England.
