A rare limited edition piece in this Royal Doulton of England Quasimodo D7108 character jug of which only 2500 of them were made in 1998, this one being number 397. Sculpted by artist David B. Biggs, Quasimodo was the hunchback featured in Victor Hugo’s 1831 novel “Notre Dame de Paris”, the handle on jug representing the belfry of the Notre Dame Cathedral, and bell it was his job to ring, even as his heart yearned in vain for the beautiful gypsy girl. Comes with its original Certificate of Authentication and is signed and dated by Michael Doulton on the base. Measures approximately 7′ high and is in absolutely mint, showcase condition.
