Rare Royal Doulton Seriesware Gallant Fishers Jug D3680. These Tudor shape jugs were produced in three sizes, this being the largest size. Title: ” Of Recreation There Is None So Free As Fishing Is Alone”. Scene: A smiling man fishing cross legged on wall, his friend behind also fishing. Series Issued: 1913 – 1936. Height: 8 inches (20.3 cm), Width: (spout to handle) 7 1/2 inches (19.1 cm), Base: 5 inches (12.7 cm) approx. Very Good Condition – No cracks, scratches, crazing, restoration or any other kind of damage. There are three areas to the base of the jug, two appear as paint loss/chips but are under glaze. The other is a chip/fault that appears to be a manufacturing fault. The underglaze paint loss is to the rear of the jug, the other two are at the front but cannot be seen when displayed see pics. Any white areas in my photographs are purely light reflection. Will be sent very safely packaged, as always.
