BIG ANTIQUE ROYAL DOULTON TOASTING MOTTO JUG PITCHER better late than never

A very unusual antique Royal Doulton stoneware tavern toasting pitcher. Standing approximately 9 1/2″ tall and nearly 20″ around the lower base of the body, this ewer is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, crazing, areas of paint wear, or repairs. There are several interior scratches at the bottom, presumably from use. I can find no other example of this Doulton mold, nor is there a series ware stamp on the bottom (ie D1234) so I can’t date it more specifically. If you can provide additional information I would love to hear from you.

A Rare and beautiful vintage pottery pitcher by Doulton Lambert featuring stars and stripes, two American Flags and a wonderful Motto/Proverb. It Measures 7 High by 6 Wide including handle. It is in Very Good Condition, no chips, no cracks, minor surface line on surface at bottom of handle, minor glaze misses on bottom edge which have the glaze over. Photo are part of description, enlarge to view. There is a buff background with dark brown trim, floral borders, ribbing on handle. Bottom is marked Doulton Lambert England 6194. Antique Royal Doulton Stoneware / Pottery Puzzle Jug / Vase. A fabulous example of a Royal Doulton stoneware puzzle jug. The jug is footed bulbous ovoid body tapering to a tall cylindrical neck pierced with band of tiny holes below the molded rim with band of small cylindrical tubes. Reads – Within this jug there is good liquor, Tis fit for parson or for vicar, for how to drink and not to spill, will try the utmost of your skill. Condition – Very good. No damage or repairs. In the interest of both parties its important to remember that many of the items stocked are very old. All item pictures are taken under bright white product photography lighting. Although we always try to show the products colours to the best of ability, on occasions it is possible that the colours in the picture might slightly differ from the actual. The condition is always described taking into account the age of the item. For example, is the item in a certain condition considering its x amount of years old. Mint – No damage, like new. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN DOULTON LAMBETH ENGLAND STONEWARE MOTTO JUG PITCHER 7629. EXCEPTIONAL DOULTON LAMBETH STONEWARE MOTTO JUG. Presenting an exceptionally fine antique Doulton Lambeth stoneware motto jug or pitcher dating to the late 1800s. This wonderfully impressive piece features four applied relief portraits contained within sun-shaped medallions. Four motto’s surround the medallions reading For every ill beneath the sun there is a remedy or none If there be one then try and find it If there be none then never mind it. This superb piece has an appealing form, with bulbous shaped body leading to a squat neck and flared rim. A large applied strap handle beautifully connects the shoulder with the rim. This piece is finished in a wonderfully earthy brown salt glaze, with deep brown trimming the foot, shoulder and the underside of the flared rim. This exceptional example is presented in very good antique condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. There are a few exceptionally tiny fleabite sided nibbles to the tips of the sun shaped medallions, extremely minimal and noticeable only on very close examination but mentioned for complete accuracy.
