This gorgeous detailed hand painted handmade Royal Doulton Character Jug named Catherine Parr D6751 was designed by Michael Abberley, and was issued between 1987 and 1989. This Character Jug depicts Catherine Parr (1512 – 1548) who became Henry VIII’s sixth and last wife on July 12th 1543, after previously being widowed twice. She came to wield considerable power in the Royal Court, serving for a time as Queen Regent in 1544 and overseeing the start of Edward VI’s reign. Standing approximately 4 1/4″ tall x 3 3/4″ wide, she is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs, and no fading. See pictures for details including bottom markings. Jug may show signs of shelf wear where it rested on a shelf. This is part of a Royal Doulton collection from an Estate.
