An antique Royal Doulton salt glaze pitcher with applied hunting and drinking scenes. The pitcher features a Sterling silver band. The pitcher measures approximately 7.25″h x 5.25″ in diameter at its widest. The hallmarks on the sterling band are worn and illegible. There is tarnish present on the band. Stamped on the bottom with the Royal Doulton hallmark and 9971. On offer is this rare, very large, Royal Doulton Kingsware table jug with a sterling silver collar. Features a jolly looking Hogarth on one side. Words on the rear read Though others’ purses be more fat, Why should we pine or grieve for that, Hang sorrow! Care will kill a cat, and therefore let’s be merry. Sterling silver collar is hallmarked GB& Sons for George Betajmann, 1912, Sterling, London. A massive size, it stands 24cm height. Spans 20cm spout to handle edge. Holds approx 2.750 litres. Raw unpackaged weight of 1.406kg. In good condition – no chips or cracks. Glaze shows some age related crazing. Silver in good condition. An outstanding piece of collectable Kingsware! ROYAL DOULTON KINGSWARE WARLOCK WIZARD JUG Sterling Silver CHARLES NOKE, ENGLAND
For your consideration, this truly rare and incredible antique Royal Doulton Kingsware Warlock or Wizard jug with stopper, circa 1904. This bears the work of artist Charles Noke, hired by Royal Doulton in 1899. His Warlock stands holding potions in an underground chamber before a steaming cauldron. This had been included with 3 Kingsware Pied Piper Pieces listing #. That I had mistaken for witches, that is why this jug and the 3 Pied Piper pieces have been split into two auctions on 10-3-18 a. My apologies for any inconvenience. The stopper cap is sterling silver attached by ring & chain to the handle. It is monogrammed but difficult to read due to flamboyance of script, please see pic. The cork is aged but intact, and fits perfectly but not tightly. The silver bears the hallmark of Charles Boyton (C B & Son), who started his silversmith business in 1825, London. This is 10.25″ tall X 3.5″ across the bottom. Weighs 1 lb 2 oz. This has crazing, NO chips or cracks. The sterling silver is a little tarnished. Interior is very clean, no smells. Extremely rare and exceptional Warlock jug aged 110+ years. This will be packed with EXTRA loving care. And hundreds of other items! Royal Doulton Porcelain Flambe Gorham Sterling Overlay Claret Jug Decanter
A Rare Royal Doulton Flambe Ware with Gorham Sterling Silver Overlay stoppered claret jug or decanter marked D 1436. This piece may possibly be a factory second and has inconsistencies in the glaze color. The sterling overlay has a poppy seed pod or thistle pattern. This piece measures about 8″H by 6″ W. This piece has some wear. There are scratches and abrasions, some what looks like small bubbles in the clear glaze and some wear to the red on the bottom of the jug. The cork has broken off and some of it is in the jug. There is wear to the sterling overlay. There are chips to the bottom rim of the stopper.
