This jug was produced in very limited quantities in 1984 – almost as soon as production began it ceased due to contractual problems regarding the Clark Gable image. The jug is featured at Page 85 of the book A Century of Royal Doulton Character and Toby Jugs by the late Steve Mullins and David Fastenau. In the book, they speculate that less than 100 were produced. It is in excellent condition, with no chips, crazing or other damage whatsoever. This is one of the rarest character jugs in existence and hardly ever comes up for sale. Im happy to answer any questions regarding this jug.
