A very rare Royal Doulton whisky jug advertising Simpson’s Scotch Whisky, created in the Lambeth factory between 1902 and 1920. Two tone cobalt blue and tan stoneware with applied relief moulding in dark green and white, and applied leaf design to the front. Doulton period mark underneath with impressed model number 4257. Most likely produced for Simpson’s Malt, an enterprise serving the whisky industry established in Northumberland over 150 years ago and still in business to-day. 15 cms (6 inches) in height and in lovely, undamaged condition.
