Up for sale are two Royal Doulton Natural Foliage Ware pieces in the rare hue blue color, a jug and trinket dish produced 1910s. These are beautifully decorated in the rare hue blue variation to the general brown pieces, with good attention to details surrounding the structure of the leaves. Should you do a search on similar pieces you note how some have leaves which drips/bleeds and the leaves are not defined. Originally produced in c1883 by pressing real leaves into still wet clay and then removing the leaves which would display the leaves details which were subsequently then painted in realistic autumnal tints, better known at the time as “Repousse Ware”. This was very popular in it’s day and a range of products were produced, loving cups, mugs, tankards, pin trays, teapots, umbrella stands and a array of various size vases. The jug measures 10.5cm tall and is in perfect condition free from, hairlines, chips and restoration. Date stamped and bear monogram of Ellen Palmer listed working at Doulton 1879 to 1910. Also another monogram of which I cannot place a name. The trinket dish measures approx 16cm in diameters and 3cm tall and is in perfect condition free from, hairlines, chips and restoration. However for completeness it has two pinholes after the firing process (as in photos). They do not distract from it’s beauty. Again date stamped and bear monogram of Ellen Palmer and Ethel Beard. I do not charge for packaging and will only dispatch with signature and tracking for peace of mind for both parties.
