The name of this item is called “Rip Van Winkle” item# D6463, COPR 1954, from Royal Doulton. This character jug features Washington Irving character, Rip Van Winkle, who slept for 20 years. The bottom of this piece reads the following in green under the clear glaze, “Made In England, Royal Doulton, Rip Van Winkle, D 6463, COPR 1954, Doulton & Co Limited, Rd No 874255, Rd No 32854, Rd No 7022, and Rd No 193/54″. The measurements of this rare and hand autographed Royal Doulton Character Jug collectible are 4″ Tall x 4-1/4″ wide x 3 deep.
