Royal Doulton Kingsware Mr. Pickwick Whiskey Flask Decanter Bottle Jug 1915 Only! Pickwick Kingsware whiskey decanter/flask/jug from the early 1900s. This jug is just shy of 8 inches high. It is about 13 inches in circumference. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restorations. This jug is a beautiful chestnut brown, done in the Kingsware glaze by Charles Noke. It features two characters; Mr. Pickwick on one side of the jug and Sammy on the other. On the bottom it has the Royal Doulton England lion/crown stamp. 5.5″L x 5.25″W x 8H. Charles Noke was Royal Doultons premier designer and modeller. Here we examine why and Charles Noke’s life, his work, the Doulton relationship and his history. In 1899 the Doulton studio recruited a young designer by the name of Charles Noke. He is now regarded as the brainchild behind Royal Doulton Seriesware, a range of products were standard blank pottery shapes (everything from plates to jugs, bowls to vases and teapots) could be decorated with a consistent theme.
