Limited Edition Royal Doulton Character Jug, The Auctioneer from The Collecting World Series, Large, D6838, 1988. This vintage Royal Doulton Character Jug depicts a British auctioneer. The certification card with the jug states the following: Royal Doulton The Auctioneer D6838 This hand-made, hand-painted Character Jug has been commissioned by Kevin Pearson on behalf of Kevin Francis Ceramics Limited in a special edition of five thousand. Lyons Chairman, Royal Doulton Ltd. ” The bottom of the mug shows all of the information listed on the certification card and more (see photo); there are also two hand made stickers which have “Lim. Ed 2500 Made written on them. Also on the bottom is the number 78 in the upper right. The jug is quite large and impressive measuring 6″ tall at the highest point by about 6″ wide (including the handle) by about 3.5 deep. The jug is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or marks; the depiction is very well done and life-like (although somewhat comical) with incredible detail and coloration. This beautiful, special edition mug would make a great addition to any Royal Doulton Character Jug collection. I welcome any questions that you may have.
