Royal Doulton Yeoman of the Guard D6884 Character Jug. #176 in Limited Edition of 250. Includes a Certificate of Authenticity which does have some wear and creasing. The raven’s tail appears to have broken off and been reattached with some slightly mismatched coloring applied (purple or blue toned black rather than just solid black). PLEASE SEE PICS FOR PHYSICAL DETAILS. Hand Made and Hand Decorated in England circa 1990. Modelled (designed) by Stanley James Taylor. Made to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the opening of the Royal Doulton Room at Higbees of Cleveland, Ohio, United States of America. Measurements (approximate) at longest points: 5″ L x 7.25″ W x 6.75 H. NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH THE MORE COMMON YEOMAN 6873. THIS JUG WAS SIGNED BY MICHAEL DOULTON IN 1990 WHICH MAKES IT MORE RARE AND VALUABLE! This jug was designed by Stanley J. Tailor with Raven and Tree Trunk Raven handle. Specially commissioned from Royal Doulton. LIMITED EDITION #107 OF ONLY 250 MADE IN 1990. THIS ROYAL DOULTON WAS MADE TO COMMEMORATE THE FIFTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE OPENING OF THE ROYAL DOULTON ROOM AT HIGBEES IN CLEVELAND, OHIO. In 1990, a year before general release, Doulton produced this jug in various limited editions with special backstamps to commemorate the anniversaries of Royal Doulton showrooms in four US department stores: Dillards, Higbee, Joseph Home and Strawbridge & Clothier.
