This is a wonderful piece from Royal Doulton. It is the depiction of an American hero, Jesse Owens in a Toby jug. Jesse is depicted in his Olympic uniform. The handle is an Olympic torch with a banner saying Berlin 1936 and also shows Old Glory. When he won against the Germans, Hitler got up and left the stadium so he would not have to acknowledge Owen’s win. This piece was the Royal Doulton Character Jug of 1996. It measures 7 inches tall by 7 1/2 inches wide and 5 inches long. It is in good condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.
