Stunning Large Royal Doulton William Shakespeare Jug – by Charles Noke. Limited Edition number 797/1000, designed by Charles Noke. Beautifully crafted and hand painted with vibrant colours. The jug is moulded in low relief with Shakespearean characters including H. Amlet, Othello and Macbeth situated. A bust of William Shakespeare is positioned within a laurel band at the jug spout. Dear Son Of Memory’ and’Great Heir Of Fame’ surrounds the upper circumference just below the rim of the jug. A frieze of book bindings and theoretical masks adorn the lower circumference of the jug. The handle is moulded with decoration of swords, and face with foliage. The foliage continues around the upper edge of the jug. Stands approximately: 27cm in height; 28.5cm in width [at widest point handle to tip of spout]; and 16.7cm diameter across the base. Weighs approximately 2.22kg.
