A very nice Royal Doulton character jug showing the two faces of Mephistopheles. On one side he is grinning and happy – to the reverse he is miserable , with drooping moustache. There is a motto to the base which describes the reason for these two faces – it can be read using the photos. Coloured in typical high gloss Doulton glazes of brown and pink and beige – very tactile piece. Height – 8 1/2 cms approx.
