A Royal Doulton Rare sample character jug of Napoleon, D6941, this was produced in a Limited Edition Of 2000, however this one is clearly numbered as Sample being made prior to the 2000. Modelled by Stanley James Taylor for production in 1993, this one has gold painted Eagle and trim rather than the limited edition dark cream. Height approximately 17.5cm. Produced as a promotional item for the D&J McCallum Distillery, this rare Doulton Kingsware jug dates from around 1930’s. Measuring just under 7 tall, the jug is in excellent condition and is free from any damage, cracks or repairs. Under close inspection there appears to be a very minor manufacturing flaw to the handle (see images), this little mould crease is fully glazed over and is purely noted for total condition accuracy. Age crazing is present in certain areas but this is very light and extremely minimum given its rich glaze and age. Overall this is a excellent example of this very desirable Kingsware jug. THIS LOT IS FOR A MINIATURE CHARACTER JUG BY ROYAL DOULTON OF ENA SHARPLES FROM THE FAMOUS SOAP OPERA CORANATION STREET.. THE JUG IS FULLY MARKED ON THE BASE WITH THE ROYAL DOULTON BACK STAMP AND MARKED AS A PILOT JUG. AND DATED CIRCA 1993.. THE JUG IS A MINIATURE SIZE AND STANDS 67mm HIGH..
