A Royal Doulton Large size Prototype Character Jug of KARL MARX, from the Great Revolutionary Series Collection. This Character jug was one of our proposed jugs in the series but due to the numbner limit of jugs in this series was never issued. Please see photos No. 7 for complete views of the jug, colours, handle and backstamp. This Character Jug was designed by Caroline Dudd, modelled by Robert Tabbenor and prototyped painted in England. Only 5 of this character jug were ever produced as samples. With its certificate of authenticity and change of ownership. In excellent colours and perfect condition. The character jug of CHAIRMAN MAO please see photo No. 8 from the same series will be issued in November 2016 in a worldwide numbered limited edition of 100. VERY RARE & HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE – Royal Doulton RONALD REAGAN Character Jug. – this CHARACTER JUG was MADE in ENGLAND by “ROYAL DOULTON”, so you KNOW the QUALITY there — it is in OUTSTANDING CONDITION with FABULOUS COLORS and DETAIL — it is NUMBER 1976 and they were supposed to have made 5,000 of them but production was cut short as they didn’t sell as expected — NOW, folks want MR REAGAN!! — it comes with the MATCHING “CERTIFICATE of AUTHENTICITY” and the ORIGINAL “James Brady” Foundation HANG-TAG — you’ll like it!! I have for sale, from my own private collection, a wonderful Limited Edition Art Deco Jug. Produced in 1933 only this is number 345 of an Edition of 1000. The jug depicts various characters from his plays in relief with the spout modelled as a mask of Shakespeare. The handle bears the masks of Comedy and Tragedy together with two swords. One of a series of Limited Edition Jugs produced by Doulton Burslem in the Art Deco period and designed by Charles Noke. The jug comes complete with its original Certificate of Authenticity, hand signed by Noke. Fully Marked to the base with the Royal Doulton Lion and Crown in black, together with a Shakespeare inscription and ink drawn portrait. Standing at 10 1/2 ins tall. Would make a fantastic addition to any serious Royal Doulton collection. EXCELLENT CONDITION, WITH NO CHIPS, CRACKS, OR RESTORATION. There is some very light glaze crazing to the base totally commensurate with its age. The Certificate has a couple of tears which do not detract.
