This old Charley Sugar Bowl is a charming piece that would make a great addition to any collection. Made by Royal Doulton in England between 1939 and 1960, this Toby Jug style sugar bowl features a glazed finish and measures 2.5 inches in length. This piece is in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks and no restorations. Ten o’clock and all’s well was the familiar call of the Charlies, watchmen who originated during the reign of Charles II and were named after him. They enjoyed a history of almost two hundred years, before being replaced in the early 1800’s by a version of the present-day policeman.
