Each section provides, in alphabetical order by character, a large color photograph of all of its sizes; a biographical or historical profile; statistics as to size, modeler and model number; and the jug’s production history. Also included are photographs of its backstamps, all known trial colorways and, in many cases, either a close-up or rear view of its intricate handle or a photo of the rear of the jug. Prototype jugs that never made it into production are given similar treatment throughout the book. A substantial Appendix provides lists and tables to help the collector navigate through the various sizes, types, backstamps, modelers, model numbers, etc. And even includes a section on clay models that never made it to the prototype stage.
