Large Royal Doulton Character Jug D6864″ Lord Mayor Of London” Retired. Comes in Original Box. Jug of the year 1990-91. He was designed by Stanley J Taylor in 1990. Standing at 7.25 inches tall and weighing 3lbs. 3.2 oz; this is a large-sized jug. This Royal Doulton version of the Lord Mayor of London features a distinguished gent with piercing blue eyes, and gray hair. There is a rosy glow to his cheeks and a spark of pink in his lips. He is dressed in ceremonial costume with a large white collared ruff at the front and a fur lined scarlet coat just over it. He wears the large gold chains of office and an over-sized black hat and the handle is composed of the gold scepter that dates back to the 1400’s. A wonderful piece, colors bright and vivid. There are no cracks, chips or repairs. Inside: Clean without discoloration, cracks or chips. Base: Slight scuff marks from shelf wear at the base edge, a slight yellow tint to the base.
