Royal Doulton Shakespearean Collection 6 Jugs: Shakespeare, Romeo, MacBeth, Hamlet, Othello & Henry V. Great for any collector, especially one with a literary bent. This is your chance to get the entire 1982 limited edition series of Royal Doulton’s The Shakespearean Collection. This complete set of jugs, measuring approximately 7.5-inches tall includes the mug of the famed playwright William Shakespeare with quill and theater handle (D6689) and his notable characters MacBeth with a handle of witches (D6667), Romeo with a sword and balcony handle (D6670). Henry V with a flag handle (D6671), Hamlet with skull and dagger handle (D6672) and Othello (D6673) whose handle displays the whispering villain Iago. Bottom of these handmade and hand-decorated jugs show the “Royal Doulton Made in England” seal with a lion atop a crown. Note that the Romeo jug also includes the modeler, David Biggs, signature. These were on display for only a few years in a glass enclosed case as part of a personal collection started in the 80s, and they have been packed away for more than ten years– always in smoke-free and pet-free environments. All jugs are in very good condition. No cracks, chips or scratches– except Othello’s handle may have two minor spots where paint rubbed off on Iago’s hat (see photo). The Hamlet jug handle rattles when shaken as if a piece got stuck inside during kilning process. What you see pictured is what you will receive.
