Rare Royal Doulton’march Hare’ Prototype Character Jug
The’March Hare’ original factory prototype. Modelled in a straw boater with a five shilling price tag protruding from the hatband. Aside from the different modelling, the jug is decorated in a distinctive colourway of green coat, yellow scarf with white spots, pink nose, brown whiskers, straw coloured boater with red and blue hatband. Artist: Designed by William Harper. Height: Stands 6 inches high. In mint condition , with no damage, no crazing and no restoration. As you can see from enlarging the pictures, the casting and decoration are outstanding. A Royal Doulton Large size Prototype Character Jug of FIDEL CASTRO, from the Great Revolutionary Series Collection. This Character jug was one of our proposed jugs in the series but due to the number limit of jugs in this series it was never produced or issued.
