EXTREMELY RARE LARGE CHARACTER TOBY JUG. GENERAL PATTON – D7026. PART OF THE GREAT GENERALS COLLECTION. Size:- Height 7. This is an extremely rare hard to find piece, Royal Doulton Character Jug, General Patton D7026 (brown, khaki and green coloration). Designed by Warren Platt. Series: Great Generals, issued 1995 in special edition of 1,000. This jug was commissioned in 1996 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of VE-Day, May 8th, 1945, by UKI Ceramics in a special edition of 1,000. Hand made and painted in Stoke-On-Trent, England. This jug is free from chips, cracks or restoration and any faults. Be assured I always use a good strong box with lots of bubble wrap and protection for a safe journey. RARE 1940 Royal Doulton Large Character Jug, Winston Churchill D6170

This is an extremely rare jug by Royal Doulton. Although considered a character jug, this version of Winston Churchill, measuring 6.5 tall with two black handles at the back is actually more like a loving cup. The inscription on the base reads Winston Churchill Prime Minister of England. This loving cup was made during the Battle of Britain as a tribute to the great leader. Unfortunately this jug was considered a poor likeness of Churchill and it is reputed that a friend of the Prime Minister suggested to Royal Doulton that is be withdrawn, making this example extremely rare in todays market. In 1941, Royal Doultons Art Director, Charles Noke, made several more unsuccessful attempts to remodel and recolor the jug with a more youthful face. These attempts are rarely seen as prototypes. Issued from 1940 1941. A note: I do not have the original box, sorry guys! It’s in very good condition. Royal Doulton – Character Jug – US Wars – World War I. This Character Jug depicts a U. Army private from World War One. The handle lists the official starting and ending dates of the war and incorporates other symbolic icons such as the R. Lusitania — the sinking of which played a role in the U. S entry into the war. An entrenching tool illustrates the use of trench warfare and the gas mask (on the back) was a critical defense against poison gas — one of the most feared and longest remembered horrors of the war. Exclusive to the U. Limited Edition of 350, this one being No 206. Measurements – Standing approx 18cm tall and 19cm wide. In excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or restoration. I have for sale, from my own private collection, a wonderful and rare Art Deco Jug. Produced in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, England, in 1933. Depicting a multitude of Charles Dickens Characters in low relief all of whom are listed to the base. The handle is modeled as Poor Joe’ from the novel Bleak House, with the spout as a mask in slumber. Designed by and signed by Charles Noke and inscribed’Keep any mind Green. The jug is of bulbous form and stands at 10 1/2 ins tall. Fully marked to the base with the Royal Doulton Lion and Crown. Although not a Limited Edition, it is widely believed that less than 1,000 were produced. The jug is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or restoration. There is some minor crazing to the glaze which is to be expected for a piece of this age. A wonderful Deco Jug which would grace any serious Doulton collection.
