Very Large Royal Doulton Limited Edition WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE JUG. Issued 1933 in Limited Edition. 10.25 inches c. 26.2 cm high x c. 9.0 wide c. Limited Edition number 98 of 1000. The workmanship and detail that has gone into this jug is quite remarkable and needs to be seen to be fully appreciated. Any collector will be proud to own this masterpiece. This prime example of Doulton craftsmanship and best quality, huge jug is in very good condition with no damage, repair or restoration and is offered at the best price available. This item will be very carefully packaged and double box protected for safety in transit and due to its weight will be sent via Parcelforce 24. Royal Doulton William Shakespeare Art Deco Jug RARE L/E 345/1000 C. O. A 1933 Only

I have for sale, from my own private collection, a wonderful Limited Edition Art Deco Jug. Produced in 1933 only this is number 345 of an Edition of 1000. The jug depicts various characters from his plays in relief with the spout modelled as a mask of Shakespeare. The handle bears the masks of Comedy and Tragedy together with two swords. One of a series of Limited Edition Jugs produced by Doulton Burslem in the Art Deco period and designed by Charles Noke. The jug comes complete with its original Certificate of Authenticity, hand signed by Noke. Fully Marked to the base with the Royal Doulton Lion and Crown in black, together with a Shakespeare inscription and ink drawn portrait. Standing at 10 1/2 ins tall. Would make a fantastic addition to any serious Royal Doulton collection. EXCELLENT CONDITION, WITH NO CHIPS, CRACKS, OR RESTORATION. There is some very light glaze crazing to the base totally commensurate with its age. The Certificate has a couple of tears which do not detract.
