Two Seaworthy Character mugs by Royal Doulton in mint condition. Long John Silver, the cunning opportunistic Pirate; quartermaster for Captain Flint in “Treasure Island” by Robert Louis Stevenson and Old Salt, the English term given to someone who sailed for many a year, the teller of sea stories. Long John Silver stands 7-1/4″ tall at highest point, and 8-1/4″ wide. Fashioned as a pitcher, the spout is part of his wide brim hat with the pirate skull & bones on front. His faithful parrot, ever on his shoulder makes up the handle. Old Salt is also 7-1/4″ tall and approximately 7-3/4″ wide. Proudly wearing the Captain’s hat, a beautiful blonde mermaid at his side as the handle. Both so realistically painted then coated with food safe over-glaze. Both have the Royal Doulton stamp with Lion and Crown on bottom. Never used, on display only, these are part of a personal collection and in mint condition. No cracks, chips, or scratches.
