EARLY Antique Doulton Lambeth 1883 Jug. Rare & Highly Collectible Royal Doulton Lambeth Jug by renowned artists EDITH D. LUPTON & MARY AITKEN. Signed EDL – EDITH D. LUPTON and MA – (MARY AITKEN). 10 1/2 tall, approx. 3 3/8 wide at the base, & approx. 8 wide with handle. This Jug is beautiful. This is an antique Doulton Lambeth 1883 Jug by artists EDITH D. LUPTON & MARY AITKEN with a nickel silver spout, lid, and handle (see NS mark). Edith Lupton worked for Doulton from about 1875 to 1890. She was a designer in her own right and also assisted other top line Doulton artists with their projects. Over the years at Doultons she cooperated on items with Arthur and Hannah Barlow, Eliza Simmance, Mark Marshall and other top designers and artists. Mary Aitken worked for Doulton from 1875 to1894. She was an assistant artist and worked with most of the great Doulton designers. This beautiful Doulton Lambeth Jug by Edith D. Lupton and Mary Aitken is in excellent used antique condition. There are no chips, cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see. There are a couple of small ash marks which are inclusions in the glaze near the base. Please look at all the photos for condition.
