ROYAL DOULTON Limited Edition #252/1500 Merlin Toby Jug Signed Michael Doulton
I have for sale a pristine Royal Doulton, Limited Edition “Merlin” Toby Jug. This jug is pattern number: D7117 and is numbered 252 of 1500. Aside from the usual markings on the bottom of the jug, Michael Doulton, the fifth-generation descendant of John Doulton, the founder of Royal Doulton. He is the honorary President of the Royal Doulton Collector’s Club. This jug stands: 7 1/2-inches high by 8-inches wide by 5-inches deep. The piercing eyes on this jug are powerful. There are no condition issues on this jug. The box has some scratches but is in otherwise, fine condtion. There is no certificate of authenticity. Thank you for your interest!

Royal Doulton Character Jug AUXILIARY TERRITORIAL SERVICE D7210. Royal Doulton Character Jug D7210 depicting a young woman in the uniform of the Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS). The ATS was formed in 1938 as the women’s branch of the British Army during the Second World War. Princess Elizabeth, later Queen Elizabeth II, served in the ATS as a lorry driver, ambulance driver and mechanic. Hand painted in England. A mid-size hand painted jug approximately 5.5 inches tall. Designed by Caroline Dadd. The handle includes driving gloves, hammer and spanner (wrench). Quite a scarce jug — only 250 made! (no chips, cracks, repairs or other defects), and FIRST QUALITY. Royal Doulton Ugly Duchess Large Character Jug D 6599. Artist flaw – tiny stroke and dot of green paint on flamingo. PLEASE SEE PICS FOR PHYSICAL DETAILS. Hand Made and Hand Decorated in England circa 1964. Modelled (Designed) by Max Henk. Approximate Measurements at longest points: 4 1/2″ L x 7″ W x 7 1/4 H. In Lewis Carroll’s 1865 literary classic’Alice in Wonderland’, The Duchess was an antagonist of The Queen of Hearts. Illustrator Sir John Tenniel’s rendering of The Duchess in’Alice in Wonderland’ was inspired by Quentin Matsys’ satirical painting’The Ugly Duchess’. Ugly Duchess is flanked by a beautiful pink flamingo croquet mallet which was used in the game she played with The Queen of Hearts. Royal Doulton’ard of’earing Character Mug small D6591. Designer: David B Biggs. Approximate size 3.75″ H x 3.5″ W x 2.75 D. With his hand held to cup his ear, this cockney gentleman, in tricorn hat, is a comical representation of a deaf man. This jug was not a great commercial success for Royal Doulton in the 1960’s, which led to a short production period of only 3 years.
