Very Rare DOULTON Large THORENS MUSICAL Character Jug – AULD MAC D5889 1930s. This is a very rare Royal Doulton musical large character jug modelled as Auld Mac. The base of the jug houses a Thorens Swiss musical movement which plays “The Campbells are Coming”. This scarce piece was designed by Harry Fenton and issued only between 1938 and 1939. Stands 6¼ inches tall. The inner rim of base has a Royal Doulton backstamp with model details as shown. The musical movement has its original Thorens label.
