Royal Doulton Oliver Twist Prototype handle and color way character jug toby
Oliver Twist was a released in 2004 as a special Club edition of only 500. This is the first prototype trial with different coloring and a slightly different handle with the single shield instead of two, Standing 6 and half inches in height it is in perfect condition and has the Royal Doulton prototype backstamp. For further information on the release version you cansee it on page 242 of the A Century of Royal Doulton Character and Toby Jugs. As everyone knows it is always difficult to price pieces like this so we are starting off with what we think is a relatively high price and are opening it up to offers. Go as low or as high as you like with your offers – each will be considered and who knows? Royal Doulton Prototype / Color Trial The Clown Large Character Jug. This piece was produced while preparing for the 1951 reintroduction. Along with the extensive painting this jug also has sculpted teardrops on the ruff and four round balls on the handle. This jug is in Excellent condition with no breaks, chips or repairs. Kevin Francis Toby Mug Jug General George S Patton #50/750. There are some very minor manufacturing flaws that are as follows; Willy Patton’s dog has a black mark in the finish SHOWN IN VARIOUS PHOTOS OF ITEM and the flag has a tiny black mark on one red stripe ALSO SHOWN IN PHOTOS, Very minor issues. It is not chipped just the manufacturing minor flaws other than that the item is in perfect near mint condition. There is no fading and has excellent color and a lot of detail. It is 8 1/2 inches tall. Any other issues are just camera flash! Comes from private collection in a smoke free home. Any questions please ask.
