This commemorative pitcher stands 7-1/2″ tall and is 3-1/2″ across the spout/opening on top. 3-3/4 across the base. This slipware pitcher commemorated the 60th year of Queen Victoria’s reign. SEE ALL PHOTOS AS THEY ARE CONSIDERED PART OF DESCRIPTION. I’ve owned this pitcher for decades and it’s been safely stored in my china cabinet……….. Inside is a very helpful article from The Antique Trader explaining what this pitcher commemorated…………… Looks to be in excellent condition with NO damage nor any repairs though there is some dirt inside the bottom and I suspect someone did use it as a pitcher once or twice………. Not me, but over this many years it’s hard to tell what or where someone had it. 1880 Doulton Lambeth 10 Claret Jug Silver Mounts TROPHY Lizzie Daintree MINTY In this listing………… We have a beautiful hand modeled and hand colored Silver Mounted Claret Jug – Trophy/Presentation Piece (Foot Race I believe-1881). Dated 1880+1881 and with numerous artist marks for Lizzie M. Daintree” “do” – “Agnes Horn” “ho” – “Emma Martin” -“EM in script also a boat load of other artist marks. I think everyone in the studio helped with this one – an important piece and most likely a “one of” – ALL as best I can decipher. The jug measures about 10 tall to the top of the silver plate lid. And has a base dia. Of 3 AS FOR CONDITION……. Absolutely NO chips , cracks , breaks or other grievous damage. This piece of ANTIQUE Pottery is a solid “8+/9″ on a scale of 1 – 10 – not perfect nothing is perfect- i. Small production flaws but awfully Minty for its age of 140 years and utilitarian purpose! C1902 Edward VII And Queen Alexandra Doulton Lambeth Coronation Jug. A Doulton Lambeth stoneware commemorative jug marking the coronation of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra in 1902. The jug is decorated in a rich blue glaze with a single brown glazed handle. The jug has a wide band around the circumference decorated with applied medallions featuring portraits of the King and Queen, Prince John and. The Prince of Wales (later King George V) between tube-lined Art Nouveau floral motifs. Above and below are inscriptions reading In Commemoration Of The Coronation Of Their Majesties and King Edward & Queen Alexandra. Anno Domini MDCCCCII (1902 in Roman numerals). The base is stamped’Doulton Lambeth England’ with the no. 1282 and the potters mark of RB which we believe to be Rosina Brown who. Worked at Doulton Lambeth between 1875 and 1905, and was a Senior Assistant from 1882. The jug has an approximate diameter of 11.5cm (4 ½ inches) and stands at 18.5cm (7 ¼ inches). It weighs 1.05 Kg. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN DOULTON LAMBETH ENGLAND STONEWARE MOTTO JUG PITCHER 7629. EXCEPTIONAL DOULTON LAMBETH STONEWARE MOTTO JUG. Presenting an exceptionally fine antique Doulton Lambeth stoneware motto jug or pitcher dating to the late 1800s. This wonderfully impressive piece features four applied relief portraits contained within sun-shaped medallions. Four motto’s surround the medallions reading For every ill beneath the sun there is a remedy or none If there be one then try and find it If there be none then never mind it. This superb piece has an appealing form, with bulbous shaped body leading to a squat neck and flared rim. A large applied strap handle beautifully connects the shoulder with the rim. This piece is finished in a wonderfully earthy brown salt glaze, with deep brown trimming the foot, shoulder and the underside of the flared rim. This exceptional example is presented in very good antique condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. There are a few exceptionally tiny fleabite sided nibbles to the tips of the sun shaped medallions, extremely minimal and noticeable only on very close examination but mentioned for complete accuracy. This piece has been very well cared for and. This impressive piece stands approx 180mms tall excluding the handle and measures 135mms in diameter at its widest excluding handle. This piece is beautifully marked to the base with an impressed “Doulton Lambeth England 7629″ impressed initials “SN” and the decorators inscribed mark. Fine Antiques & Collectibles. An early 20th century Royal Doulton stoneware Slaters Patent jug style vase. It has a deep green glaze inside the rim. The exterior with the Slaters design has tan, blue, white and gold detail and is a particularly attractive form. The textures were created by impressing lace fabric into the clay before firing. It has an applied strap handle and the base has the Doulton impressed marks. Very good for period, minor wear only.
