Gorgeous and neatly detailed and colored Royal Doulton double-handle Character Jug of OLIVER CROMWELL D6968. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA). Limited Edition of 2,500, this one is marked number 85. Height is about 7 inches. Excellent Pre-owned condition with no chips, cracks, glazing, etc. Jug was manufactured in 1994. To celebrate the 350th Anniversary of the Battle of Marston Moor in 1644 which was part of the English Civil Wars. Between the Royalists and Parliamentarians. The double handles depict Lord/Baron Thomas. Fairfax and King Charles I. (1599 – 1658), English statesman and Lord protector of the Republican Commonwealth. When differences between King Charles I and Parliament erupted into the English Civil Wars, Cromwell became one of the leading generals on the Parliamentary side, winning many notable victories, including the Battles of Marston Moor and Naseby. He was widely regarded as one of the most important statesmen in English History.
For sale Limited Edition Stan Laurel D7008 and Oliver Hardy D7009 character jugs by Royal Doulton which were issued in 1995 in a Limited Edition of just 3,500 and modelled by William K Harper. This matching pair is numbered 1395. The jugs measure approximately 10.5 cm in height and are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or damage/restoration and barely any signs of wear. They are fully stamped underneath and are both first quality.
