Royal Doulton – Character Jug – US Wars – World War I. This Character Jug depicts a U. Army private from World War One. The handle lists the official starting and ending dates of the war and incorporates other symbolic icons such as the R. Lusitania — the sinking of which played a role in the U. S entry into the war. An entrenching tool illustrates the use of trench warfare and the gas mask (on the back) was a critical defense against poison gas — one of the most feared and longest remembered horrors of the war. Exclusive to the U. Limited Edition of 350, this one being No 206. Measurements – Standing approx 18cm tall and 19cm wide. In excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or restoration.
