Antique Edwardian Royal Doulton soft paste porcelain Bird of Paradise jug / ewer. This product data sheet is originally written in English. A rare example of a Royal Doulton soft paste jug / pitcher / ewer dating from the early 20th century. With a wavy rim and narrow lip, decorated with exotic birds of paradise surrounded by foliage on two sides and richly sprayed with gilt throughout. Above the birds are two medallions elaborately outlined in gold depicting a bee on one side and a butterfly on the other. Made by Royal Doulton, England, c. 16.5 cm at widest point. Very good antique condition. Wear to gilt appropriate to age; repair to handle; crazing on body. 1901 – 1922 407 g 18 cm tall 16.5 cm at widest point Very good antique condition.

BIG ANTIQUE ROYAL DOULTON TOASTING MOTTO JUG PITCHER better late than never
A very unusual antique Royal Doulton stoneware tavern toasting pitcher. Standing approximately 9 1/2″ tall and nearly 20″ around the lower base of the body, this ewer is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, crazing, areas of paint wear, or repairs. There are several interior scratches at the bottom, presumably from use. I can find no other example of this Doulton mold, nor is there a series ware stamp on the bottom (ie D1234) so I can’t date it more specifically. If you can provide additional information I would love to hear from you.
