Presenting an exceptionally scarce and desirable antique whisky jug produced by the quality English makers Royal Doulton for Dewar’s Scotch Whisky circa 1914. This stylishly shaped Whisky jug is beautifully decorated with a transferware printed scene depicting the Bleriot Monoplane flown by Maurice Guillaux over Sydney Harbour in 1914. The reverse side of the jug features the black lettering “Dewar’s”. This scarce Australian themed piece would make a superb addition to any Royal Doulton Kingsware or antique whisky jug collection! CONDITION: This piece is presented in excellent antique condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. There is some light and fine overall crazing noticeable only on close examination but mentioned for complete accuracy. Original stopper no longer remains. This Whiskey Jug has been very well cared for and presents magnificently. Late 1800s John Dewar & Sons Promotional Whiskey Jug created by Doulton Lambeth England, who we know today as Royal Doulton. They were not given consent from the King to use the word Royal in their name until 1901. With the addition of The Rd # and the model 8012, we can put this late 1870s, possibly 1880s. This piece is just in amazing condition considering it’s age.
