THIS ROYAL DOULTON KINGSWARE THE PIRATES FLASK MEASURES 6.5 INCHES TALL AND DATES 1909. STAMPED ON THE BACK OF THE FLASK AC-1909. THIS ROYAL DOULTON KINGSWARE THE PIRATES FLASK WAS THE FIRST YEAR IN THE SERIES PRODUCED FOR GREENLEES BROTHERS WHISKY. MARKED ON THE BOTTOM OF THE FLASK ROYAL DOULTON (GREENLEES BROTHERS CLAYMORE SCOTCH WHISKY DISTILLERS). This new mark, available for use on all the decorated Doulton Lambeth and Burslem Wares, was introduced in 1902 after the Company had been given the right, the previous year, to use the description’Royal Doulton’ for its products. Some of the marks for specific wares were continued in use with or without No. The lower portion (without the lion and crown) was used on smaller pots from 1902 to 1956. 1905 Royal Doulton Nelson Centenary Jug

A crisp 1905 Royal Doulton Nelson Centenary Jug. With a rich blue glaze, it features a green medallion of Nelson surrounded by the fleets at Trafalgar. The borders and handle are of rope twist form. “England Expects Every Man Will Do His Duty” is shown around the rim. The base stamps are. And the potters mark is GP, a potter unknown to me. The jug is 20cm tall by 15cm fore to aft by 12cm wide. In excellent condition with no damage. Diamond Jubilee Commemorative Bulbous Jug. GRATIA = VICTORIA = QUEEN & EMPRESS. “SHE WROUGHT HER PEOPLE LASTING GOOD”. Jug stands 230 mm (9) high. Widest diameter 150 mm (6) approx. There are a couple of flea bite chips on the spout. There are some age related scratches on the body (worse on the word’wrought’) and some under glaze blemishes. Royal Doulton Stoneware Jug Nelson And His Captains (Green) A fine commemorative, wide based jug entitled Nelson and His Captains. The piece probably dates to around 1905, the centenary of the battle of Trafalgar. The base and spout are in green glaze with the body being a light tan brown. The band has a portrait to the front of Lord Nelson around this are scenes of ships and smaller portraits of his Captains – Troubridge, Collingwood, Hardy and Miller. The base has the Royal Doulton stamp and the code X6436. Dimensions The jug measure 8 inches (20cm) in height and has a diameter of approx. 5 ½ inches (14cm). It weighs 1.150Kg. Condition The jug is in wonderful condition with no cracks or chips. There is a tiny area on the lip uncovered by glaze due to a clay fold. Royal Doulton Guy Fawkes Jug – Harry Fenton 27/600. The richly decorated circa 1935 large jug, designed by Harry Fenton, was created as a limited edition of 600, this one being the low numbered 27th piece. Guy Fawkes is depicted in relief, he is surrounded by barrels of gunpowder in the cellars of the Houses of Parliament and has just been discovered. The handle is in the form of a blazing torch. November 5th, 1605, Guy Falks, Oyez! Let it be known to all just men and citizens that a certain traitor – to wit- Guy Fawkes having with other conspirators wickedly and of set purpose plotted to blow up His Majesty’s House of Parliament with gunpowder placed in the cellars, thereof was taken de facto in the act and is herewith committed with the other traitors to be executed. Edition limited to 600, this jug is no. There is also the Royal Doulton, Made In England backstamp for 1932 on-wards. Dimensions The jug has a height of 7.5 inches (19 cm), a depth of 8 inches (20.3 cm) & a diameter of 5 inches (12.7 cm). It weighs 786 g. Condition The jug is in excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks or restoration. There are a few, tiny areas of surface glass loss.
