Rare Royal Doulton Seriesware Jug – Egyptian A Pottery D3419. Scenes/Titles: Enthroned man wearing peaked hat and holding vase / Man with vase in each hand / Boy with ball hat / Man and woman holding vases / Man with tall hat holding a staff / Man holding a ewer. In 1923, a year after the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb, the design was modified to include the subtitle Tutankhamun’s Treasures, Luxor, Egypt. The series was withdrawn in 1929. This piece can be dated to pre 1923. Height: 7 1/2 inches (19.0 cm), Width: (spout to handle) 5 3/4 inches (14.6 cm), Top: 4 1/2 inches (11.4 cm), Base Diameter: 4 inches (10.1 cm). Excellent Condition Assured – No cracks, chips, scratches, restoration or any other kind of damage. There is all over fine, clean age related crazing present. Does not detract in any way from this rare piece and mentioned for complete accuracy. Any white areas in my photos are purely light reflection. Will be sent very safely packaged, as always. Here is a rare and beautiful ale jug circa 1900 made by the famous Doulton Lambeth pottery works. It commemorates the English Navy during the Boer War with sailor and two naval officers depicted as. Heroes from the Boer War action the Siege of Ladysmith, Capt H Lambton and Capt P M Scott in cartouches and a sailor wearing the H. Art Nouveau flowers decorate in between the panels. We offer these superb hard to find Royal Doulton Charrington & Co. Toby jug and a Hoare & Co. Toby Jug from a small private collection of advertising ware, dating from 1934-38. The figure is moulded standing on a rounded base with an inscription reading Toby Ale. The face is moulded and glazed with excellent attention to detail. The figure wears a black glazed tricorn hat with a maroon badge, a green coat with yellow cuff details, maroon trousers and black buckled shoes, with a black Royal Doulton mark to the base. The base is also impressed with the registration mark 8074, as shown in the images. Both measure 6 inches tall. Toby is much older than the Royal Doulton Toby. Both are hand painted. Antique Royal Doulton Stoneware / Pottery Puzzle Jug / Vase. A fabulous example of a Royal Doulton stoneware puzzle jug. The jug is footed bulbous ovoid body tapering to a tall cylindrical neck pierced with band of tiny holes below the molded rim with band of small cylindrical tubes. Reads – Within this jug there is good liquor, Tis fit for parson or for vicar, for how to drink and not to spill, will try the utmost of your skill. Condition – Very good. No damage or repairs. In the interest of both parties its important to remember that many of the items stocked are very old. All item pictures are taken under bright white product photography lighting. Although we always try to show the products colours to the best of ability, on occasions it is possible that the colours in the picture might slightly differ from the actual.
