A stunning Royal Doulton’Morrisian’ ware jug with Holbein glaze. Block printed in sepia with two characters from’Eastern Figures’ by the American poster artist Will H. The borders and handle are decorated with William Morris style grapevine motifs. In very good condition, small baking faults / imperfections (inner border and bottom) , otherwise no cracks or restorations. A beautiful example of art nouveau and early series ware. Item has Back stamp hall mark : MA 22 GHT. A sensational item in otherwise Fantastic amazing condition. The Pitcher jug decanter shows off the stylish Art Nouveau panels with variations of a blue and tan glaze and deep cuts and relief. The colours are incredible and contrasting. This piece is signed by GHT- George Hugo Tabor His work is extremely Rare and Hardly anything surfaces these days He worked as an artist for Royal Doulton Lambeth ware from 1881 – 1889 and most references to his name states that his work for The Doulton Co. A Doulton Lambeth silicon ware jug, decanter or flask. It was made for DCL (The Distillers Company Limited), celebrating their Scotch Whisky winning the Gold Medal at Edinburgh in 1886, a very important advertising feature at the time. A lovely Egyptian frieze featuring horse-drawn chariots and armed warriors in a variety of poses, all between two bands of stylized flowers. The front face shows the Scottish coat of arms, and firms address in a central panel. Impressed on the base Doulton Silicon Lambeth (which dates it to about the 1890s) and 9963. There was much interest at that time in the ancient world and its pottery as excavations were being carried out around the Mediterranean. Silicon ware was peculiar to Doulton, it is similar to stoneware, with a different body and fired at a higher temperature making the production more expensive and the ware is very sturdy. The flask would date from soon after the medal win of 1886. A rare piece, not often seen now. Size: 18.5cm (7¼), about 13cm wide; unpacked, it weighs 920 g. Condition: excellent vintage condition, free of crazing, cracks, repairs. All the decals are very good. On the handle there is a spot where some clear glaze has landed from another pot. No crazing, cracks or chips, a good consistent sound when tapped. Please view all the pictures as they complete the description. While I do my best to reproduce the true colours of the pieces, they will vary slightly from system to system, and in actual viewing they will vary under differing lighting. All white spots are purely light reflections from the camera flash. The item will first be wrapped bubble before packing securely in a solid box with lots of peanuts earthquake proof. Very Rare Antique Royal Doulton Pair Of Corolian Ware Jugs By Robert Allen

For sale are these stunning antique Corolian Ware jugs. Made by Royal Doulton Burslem. In a striking deep flow blue with hand painted flowers and gilt detail. They both have the same number RA17550D to the base. This is a Robert Allen design mark and dates them between 1892 – 1897. Although the shapes are identical the decoration is different to each. One of the jugs carries an additional number a8532. Corolian Ware was only made by Doulton between 1891 to 1902. In brilliant undamaged condition as you can see. The bases are a little crazed but they are otherwise good for their age. Measure approx 13.5 x 9.5 cm. Thank you for looking. Royal Doulton Series Ware Tall Jug Pitcher POPPIES A D4012 GENUINE ANTIQUE

ROYAL DOULTON TALL JUG/PITCHER. ITEM: Royal Doulton tall jug or pitcher. It is part of the Series Ware collection and of course it is English made. This pattern is called “Poppies A”. The main decoration on the body of the jug is poppy flowers and stems. The series is described in Louise Irvine’s Royal Doulton Series Ware reference books, (Vol 4, Page 198). Note that the photos provided form part of the description. Please contact me if you would like more photos or further information on condition. Any shiny spots or white marks are from the camera shots, not blemishes on the item. Mustard colouring, brown trim and treacle glaze. MEASUREMENTS: 19cms high, 12cms in diameter across the top from the spout, not including the handle. The base is approx 10cms in diameter. CONDITION: No chips or cracks. Does have old age related glaze crazing, which is normally expected in ceramics of this age and adds to the character of the piece in my opinion. The brown is in good condition with just a little wear in one area on the rim. Has some glaze skips and some grit under the glaze in one area, part of the manufacturing process which would have been pretty rudimentary at the time this piece was produced. Overall in good condition in my opinion. MARKINGS: The bottom of the jug has a black Royal Doulton lion and crown back stamp. Also, the registration number, “D4012″. AGE: Ms Irvine states the pattern was produced from 1906 and withdrawn during WW1. Could be as old as 1916, but either way, this makes the item over 100 years old. GENERAL COMMENTS: Lovely collectable from a by-gone era. This piece of Royal Doulton is in good condition, especially considering its age.
