Royal Doulton Series Ware Tall Jug Pitcher Egyptian A -Pottery D3419 OLD

ROYAL DOULTON TALL JUG/PITCHER. ITEM: Royal Doulton tall jug or pitcher. It is part of the Series Ware collection and of course it is English made. This pattern is called “Egyptian A-Pottery”, relating to early Egyptian figures. DESCRIPTION: The jug has straight sides and a flared top, sitting on a round base. It has a lime green trim around the rim and down the sides of the handle. The series is described in Louise Irvine’s Royal Doulton Series Ware reference books, (Vol 4, Pages 20-22). The jug has a continuous pattern of various figures around the middle of the jug body. The scenes depicted are: Scene 1 “Enthroned man wearing a serpent head-dress holding vase”; Scene 11 “Two men with their arms raised in homage”; Scene 3 “Woman with a slave holding her train”; and Scene 12 “Man carrying a vase”. Note that the photos provided form part of the description. Any shiny spots or white marks are from the camera shots, not blemishes on the item. Colours of grey, brown, green, salmon, black on a cream ground. MEASUREMENTS: 16cms high, 10.5cms in diameter across the top from the spout, not including the handle. The base is approx 9cms in diameter. CONDITION: No chips or cracks. Does have age related glaze crazing, commensurate with its age. Green trim is is good condition without wear. Couple of pieces of clay under the glaze, part of the manufacturing process. Small fleck of paint worn from the handle. Overall, In good vintage condition in my opinion. MARKINGS: The bottom of the jug has a black Royal Doulton lion and crown back stamp. Also, the registration number, “D3419″ (I think). AGE: Ms Irvine states the pattern was produced from 1911 and withdrawn by 1929. This makes the item between 90 and 110 years old. I suggest it was produced during the 1910’s given that the pattern registration number D3419 was the earliest used for this series. GENERAL COMMENTS: Lovely collectable from a by-gone era. Royal Doulton Series Ware Small Water Jug The Jackdaw of Rheims D2532 VGC RARE

ROYAL DOULTON SMALL SIZE WATER JUG. “THE JACKDAW OF RHEIMS”. ITEM: Royal Doulton smaller water jug. Very unusual size being half a pint capacity (about 570mls). It is part of the Series Ware collection and of course it is English made. This pattern is called “The Jackdaw of Rheims”, from the “Ingoldsby Legends” a series of verse tales written by Richard Harris Barham in 1840. DESCRIPTION: The jug is conical in shape with a slight taper to the top. It has a round base and the top has grooves either side to house the lid. It has a dark olive green trim around rim, down the sides of the handle and also on the top of the handle. The lid is the same colouring. The jug has the ivy wall on the lower half and a verse quote around the centre. The series is described in Louise Irvine’s Royal Doulton Series Ware reference books(Vol 1, Pages 38-39). This scene is Scene 14 (of 16), “Came limping a poor little lame jackdaw”. Note that the photos provided form part of the description. Any shiny spots or white marks are from the camera shots, not blemishes on the item. Colours of grey, brown, green, black, cream, gold and red. MEASUREMENTS: 16cms high to the top of the lid, 8cms in diameter across the base. CONDITION: No chips, cracks, crazing, restoration or staining. No condition issues that I can see. In excellent condition in my opinion. MARKINGS: The bottom of the jug has a black Royal Doulton lion and crown back stamp. Also, a patent number, “114107” and the registration number, “D2532″ which is hand written. AGE: Ms Irvine states the pattern was produced from 1906 to 1930. This makes the item at least 88 years old, may well be older. GENERAL COMMENTS: Lovely collectable from a by-gone era. This piece of Royal Doulton is in top notch condition, especially considering its age. The series is called silhouettes and depicts lots of comical scenes like a cyclist riding a bicycle in to a policeman, knocking his helmet off. It is in good condition with no cracks, restoration or crashing. The gold gilding on the rim and handle is also good with no rubbing. There is a tiny chip on the inside at the tip of the wing on the rim. On the base is the green Royal Doulton backsramp and the impressed number 941. Royal Doulton Large Bluebell Gatherers D3812 Ice Jug/Water Pitcher Series Ware

On offer is rare Royal Doulton Ice Jug in the Bluebell Gatherers pattern. A large and impressive piece that weighs 1.2 kg so is quite heavy and measures 22.5 cms (9 inches) in height and 20 cms (8 inches) across the top from the end of the handle to the end of the spout. Lovely detail with no chips, cracks or repairs but does as expected have crazing. There is some staining to the inside and under lip spout area that would be expected due to it’s 100 year plus age. A beautiful and impressive piece that would be a stand out to any collection.. Approximately 5.5 tall, no damage. This is true Silicone Ware (made in the 1890’s) and is marked as such. Silicon ware is very sturdy. Further evidence of dating is the makers numbering system. This piece has what is called a “C” number see photo with mark “6687C”. Other pieces are created as late as the 1920’s with less quality. There was much interest at that time in the ancient world and its pottery as excavations were being carried out around the Mediterranean. Hence the Greek Frieze style. Rare Royal Doulton Silicon Ware John Dewars & Sons Whisky Perth, AU Jug

This Rare Original Antique piece in Greek Frieze style is marked on the bottom of the jug as Silicon Ware by Royal Doulton foundry and is in Very Nice condition for a piece that was produced in the late 1890’s. It is approximately 5.5″ tall by 5 1/4″ at the widest point and 4 3/4 across the base. There are no chips, cracks or damage of any kind. This is true Silicone Ware and is marked as such. Silicon Ware was peculiar to Royal Doulton. It is similar to stoneware with a different body and fired at a higher temperature making the production more expensive and the Silicon Ware is very sturdy. Very Rare Antique Royal Doulton Pair Of Corolian Ware Jugs By Robert Allen

For sale are these stunning antique Corolian Ware jugs. Made by Royal Doulton Burslem. In a striking deep flow blue with hand painted flowers and gilt detail. They both have the same number RA17550D to the base. This is a Robert Allen design mark and dates them between 1892 – 1897. Although the shapes are identical the decoration is different to each. One of the jugs carries an additional number a8532. Corolian Ware was only made by Doulton between 1891 to 1902. In brilliant undamaged condition as you can see. The bases are a little crazed but they are otherwise so good for their age. Measure approx 13.5 x 9.5 cm. Thank you for looking.
